Chloë Grace Moretz played the iconic Hit-Girl on superhero parody films Kick-Ass and Kick-Ass 2. The set of superhero comedies marked a new avenue for superhero films combining both dark comedic elements with otherwise classic narrative structures.
Moretz is not opposed to working in the 3rd installment of the series. However, her only demand is that talk-show host Jimmy Fallon also take on a major role within the project.
Grace Moretz appeared on the latest episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. While talking about Kick-Ass 3, she said that she would get back into the project, however, Fallon would have to be on the project. She said “You’re gonna be Kick-Ass this time, though. Don’t tell Aaron [Taylor-Johnson]”
The former teen star was promoting her upcoming Hulu film Mother/Android. As they touched on the topic of Kick-Ass 3, Moretz said that it would be interesting to follow the journey of Hit-Girl as a girl, while the whole crew gets back together, including former Quicksilver star Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
I mean, I think I would love to do a Kick-Ass 3. I think it’d be really fun to see where Hit-Girl goes and what she’s like as an adult. But I think it would have to be kind of perfect. You know, I feel like it would need to be, across the board [perfect] — Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chris Mintz-Plasse and the whole crew back together.
Kick-Ass co-creator Mark Miller has revealed plans for the third part of the project. However, the film isn’t anywhere near a production stage. Kick-Ass 3, if it were to be a film, would have to be at least as good as its predecessors.
