French Montana Draws More Fire For Controversial Statement About The NBA

French Montana claimed that people have a better chance at becoming professional basketball players than rap stars. This comment lead Ed Lover to compare Montana’s rapping skills to Damian Lillard.

While talking to DJ Vlad, Ed Lover shared his thoughts on French Montana’s claims. He said that he doesn’t agree with any of them. According to Ed Lover, there’s a basketball player who raps way better than French Montana.

“French Montana, please shut the f*ck up,” Ed Lover said. “No way, do you know how many dudes played high school basketball? Do you know how many dudes played college basketball that never get drafted into the NBA? You can have a half-assed song and become a rap star, we seen it a million times.”

“I’ll tell you something right now and I’ll prove it to you French Montana. Damian Lillard got better rap skills than you got homie, yeah I said it. IF you give me MC to MC Damian Lillard will bust French Montana ass, yeah I said it. It ain’t nothing against you French, I like your records but that statement? F*ck out of here son.”

“French started this when he was a guest on Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning show. He said that “You’re better off making it in the NBA than Hip Hop,” French told Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning crew. “NBA, they got like what, 28 teams … 15 players on every team? And that’s in the hundreds. You talk about Hip Hop, you can’t even name 10 people that’s hot every couple months. The odds … anybody can do it if it was easy.”

He is now paying for the statement he made. French believed there are so many rappers, but people can’t name 10 that are consistently hot.
