Kevin Durant is a leading candidate for this year’s NBA MVP, as Brooklyn Nets currently hold the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Last night, the nets smashed the Atlanta Hawks 113-105, improving their record to 18-8.The Hawks had a good run winning 7 of their last 10 games.

KD led his team with his contribution of 31 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Hawks’ Trae Young matched KD in points with 31 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds, but could not seal a victory.

During the fourth quarter of the game, the Nets led 107-102 with two minutes left, KD fouled Trae a little too hard as Trae set a screen. When Young confronted KD ,the two got in each other’s faces and talked smack before being issued a technical foul.

After the game, Durant tried to explain the altercation to the press, saying he still respects Trae.

“I was a little too physical there with that action & I kind of pushed him a bit. He wanted me to get up out of his space & I respect that. Just a part of the game. Nothing personal, it’s all competition.”

When Trae was asked about the incident, he shared the same sentiment saying :”Yeah we’re all good.” It seems the war of word stayed on the court and both of them are on good terms.
