The Week 14 game between Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raider saw four penalties overall. One of those four penalties came at the hands of Tyrann Mathieu.
The Chiefs bagged an impressive 48-9 victory over the Raiders. The Mathieu penalty came during the first half, with just 35 seconds remaining on the clock. Raiders running back Josh Jacobs took a short pass for 14 yards when he was shoved out of bounds by Mathieu.
Following the game, Mathieu was spotted exchanging words with someone on the Raiders’ sideline. Mathieu was heard over the official’s microphone saying “go ahead and throw the flag!” One of the game officials immediately threw a penalty flag over the taunting.
Mathieu was flagged for penalty because of his unsportsmanlike conduct. Despite the fact that Mathieu invited his own penalty flag, he later seemed dissatisfied with the decision. After the game, the All-Pro safety took to Twitter to react to his penalty.
A Twitter user named Jackie Bradbury wrote that he wasn’t even mad with Tyrann Mathieu’s taunting penalty. Mathieu surprisingly retweeted it saying that he never taunted in his entire life.
