Ben Affleck Says He Felt Trapped In His Marriage To Jennifer Garner

Ben Affleck says he wouldn’t have been able to get sober had he stayed married to Jennifer Garner. He says, he felt “trapped.”

The movie star, shared details about his marriage to Jennifer on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show“. He held nothing back when talking about his ex.

“We probably would’ve ended up at each other’s throats. I probably still would’ve been drinking.”

He added that he started drinking because he felt trapped in his marriage.

Affleck, 49, went to rehab for alcoholism in 2018 further continued saying he couldn’t leave for the sake of his kids. He shares he dealt with not being happy in the relationship by drinking a bottle of scotch and passing out on the couch.

The ex-couple who married from 2005 to 2018 tried working on their marriage several times for the sake of their children: Violet,16, Seraphina, 12, and 9-year old Samuel. He also claimed that the media tablets had it all wrong about their eventual breakup. He says, the couple took their time and made their decision to end their marriage.

The “Gone Girl” star publicly announced the dissolution of his marriage to Garner. Affleck later rekindled his romance with Jennifer Lopez in April 2021, they were previously engaged in early 2000s. You can check out a short clip from the interview below.
