The reboot of the beloved television series “Sex and the City” has been met with absolute joy by fans. One of the big storylines in the opening episodes involves Mr. Big, played by Chris Noth. The character is a key part of the lore of the show.

The actor who portrays Mr. Big is now in hot water. Two women said they were triggered to come forward with allegations of sexual assault after seeing Noth on television. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Noth has denied the allegations outright. He sent a statement regarding the accusations.

“The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”

One of the women claims to have met Chris Noth in 2004 when she was 22 years old. He invited her to hang out at his apartment complex pool. She then went to his apartment to take a call. While there, she alleges that Noth kissed her and forcibly removed her clothes and raped her.

The other accusation is similar to the first. In 2015, she joined Noth for what she thought was dinner. Instead, the two wound up drinking and going back to his apartment. It was then that he forced himself on her.

The whole story adds a bittersweet twist to the launch of “And Just Like That…” The reboot is supposed to pick up on the fun, stressed out lives of aging women in New York. The series will now be tied to horrific allegations of abuse and assault.
