The Rock left WWE and took over Hollywood. His incredible accomplishments haven’t stopped either and now two of his movies are owning Netflix.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Red Notice and Jungle Cruise topped Nielsen’s Top 10 SVOD Movies list and Top 10 SVOD Programs list for the second week of November. The Rock’s $200 million blockbusters is Netflix’s most expensive film yet. Recently Dwayne seemed to share his thoughts on the super success of his shows.
“Red Notice,” a heist comedy co-starring Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, claimed the No. 1 spot in both lists following its streamer debut on Nov. 5.
Disney Plus Jungle Cruise starring Emily Blunt, Jesse Plemons, Jack Whitehall, Édgar Ramírez, and Paul Giamatti, landed in third place on both aforementioned Nielsen lists.
Recently, Dwayne shared a post from Variety on his Instagram account. He posted it with a caption claiming that both Jungle Cruise and Red Notice had been watched more than 2 Billion minutes in one week.
“THANK YOU guys worldwide for this insane support. On streaming platforms @disneyplus & @netflix both JUNGLE CRUISE & RED NOTICE had been watched approximately 2 BILLION MINUTES in ONE WEEK. An amazing opportunity in our industry for our @sevenbucksprod to continue to serve our global audience first and closely pulse how the people want to enjoy our films, TV productions and other businesses across ALL platforms. A great time in our business to learn and listen to the consumer more than ever.”
Both the shows attracted audiences across generations, deriving quarters of their viewership in the 18-34, 35-49, and 50-64 age brackets. Dwayne expressed his gratefulness to his fans from all over the world through his Instagram account. Let’s see if the count increases to double by the next week.
