Urban Meyer was recently relieved of his duties at Jacksonville Jaguars following a disastrous first year as head coach of the American football team. The controversy surrounding his ouster has become a hot topic at the Titan Towers – home of Vince McMahon’s WWE.

Jaguars say they intend to withhold the guarantees left on Meyer’s contract, as per ESPN, adding that his firing was not tied to one specific incident. Rather, it was triggered by multiple instances.

According to Wrestling Observer’s Andrew Zarian, the controversial decision is a big topic of conversation behind the Gorilla in WWE, with many confused over the definition of real contracts in rival AEW.

The decision to not pay Urban Meyer with years left on his deal is a heavy discussion topic among WWE talent in Illinois today.

I’m told lots of confusion and discussion around the definition of “real contracts” in AEW

Wrestling contracts have become a hot topic in recent years – thanks to the rise of dirt sheets that have taken the wrestling world by storm. Social media has also played its part in raising the curtain from the Gorilla.

Meyer’s sacking came days after WWE superstar Kevin Owens resigned with the company, amid widespread belief that the former WWE Universal Champion was going to join his “Mount Rushmore” stablemates in AEW.
