There is no doubt that Conor McGregor remains one of the most talked-about and highly controversial fighters in the history of the MMA world. He has competed against the best of the best the sport has to offer. It seems Joe Rogan recalled what led to one of Conor McGregor’s best fights.
This includes his highly lauded fights against Nate Diaz, as the two faced off against each other on two occasions at UFC 196 and UFC 202. They both have one victory over the other.
For a long time, many fans have been wondering whether the two will face off in a third fight and complete their trilogy together. Even Conor McGregor himself said a third fight must happen.
While speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Joe Rogan recalled Nate Diaz drinking tequila in Mexico just 11 days before the fight against Conor McGregor at UFC 196. Rogan gave props to Diaz for accepting the fight on such short notice.
“Yeah, he was drinking tequila in Mexico, eating tacos. And then, he goes, ‘Okay.’ And 11 days later, he’s strangling Conor McGregor.”
Nate Diaz also recently stated that Conor McGregor has to prove that he can still fight. We will have to wait and see when Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz will duke it out in their third fight together in the future as the rivalry between the two is unlikely to end anytime soon.
