It seems that trilogies aren’t enough for franchises that rack in the dough. Now John Wick is getting a fourth treatment and Keanu Reeves is set for another huge payday. This also answers the question of why Neo looked like John Wick in the Matrix: Resurrections.
After Paramount releases Tom Cruise’s long-awaited sequel Top Gun: Maverick on May 27, it makes sense that Lionsgate’s tentpole John Wick: Chapter 4 would be pushed out to Memorial Day weekend 2022. The film will be delayed by a year, according to a new teaser.
Chad Stahelski’s fourth sequel will now premiere on March 24, 2023. The film’s primary photography is said to have recently ended. The new release date will give the creators extra time in post-production.
Sony’s untitled George Forman biopic is the only other film that aligns with John Wick Chapter 4’s new release date. The film has grossed $584.7 million worldwide after three parts.
Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Laurence Fishburne, Bill Skarsgrd, Ian McShane, and others star in John Wick: Chapter 4. The screenplay was written by Michael Finch and Shay Hatten. Erica Lee, Basil Iwanyk, and Stahelski are the producers.
Fans must be patient and keep their expectations in control for the fourth part, as it appears. Given the additional post-production time, expectations should increase. Take a look at the John Wick: Chapter 4 Announcement video below.
