The Los Angeles Lakers have been having a bad one this season. It’s not something that fans are greatly enjoying, but the fact remains that things could turn around for the team. Their chemistry is not anywhere near what they need, so things look bleak at the moment.
Russell Westbrook recently got with the team, which made the fans think that a period of momentum might be coming for the team. However, a loss to the Phoenix Suns made fans cynical again.
Westbrook took to answer the frequently asked question about what the team aims to do in order to get their act right. However, he sounded frustrated, as even his future with the team is uncertain.
Speaking to SBNation, the Lakers player said that there is still possibility that things could be turned around for the team. He said that the team is still confused about what their potential actually is, but there’s still hope.
I mean that’s obvious. Everybody knows that, but nobody cares. They don’t want to hear that. That’s just reality. Because every game we get asked the same question of ‘Hey, can you guys figure it out.’ But everybody obviously knows that we haven’t been able to see what our team can actually be like thus far. But we understand that, and like I just said, our job is to be able to keep our head down, stay locked in on one common goal and that’s at the end of the year just winning a championship and to do that is not going to be easy. It’s not going to be an easy road. And we understand that and have to stay with it and continue to move forward.
The Lakers have so far not done what needs doing. Even though Westbrook sounded optimistic and real at the same time, fans still can’t buy that. Only a practical victory can inspire hope for the team in this season.
