Pop legend Rihanna recently took to social media to mourn her late cousin, Tavon Alleyne, who had been fatally shot in Barbados in 2018, at the age of 21. This year marked the 4th anniversary of his passing away.
After spending the holidays with his family, Alleyne was walking through the neighborhood of Saint Martin’s, where he was murdered. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. His murderer was never found.
At the time, Rihanna had taken to social media to express her grief, and used the opportunity to send out a message against gun violence.
RIP cousin… can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms! never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man! #endgunviolence.
Now, on the 4th anniversary of Alleyne’s passing away, Rihanna has taken to social media yet again to mourn him and express her grief. The singer shared multiple pictures of herself and her cousin, saying that she still misses him and his smile.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Alleyne’s family, and may he rest in peace. You can view Rihanna’s tribute to her cousin below.
