The Netflix documentary series “Cheer” made Jerry Harris a household name. Harris went from small-time cheerleader for tiny Navarro College to reality star. He was a fan favorite on the show’s first season.

That all came to a grinding halt when Harris was arrested for child pornography in September of 2020. The future of the entire series was in doubt. Jerry also faces lawsuits from two of his alleged victims.

Netflix once again bucked the controversy. The streaming giant has had no time for cancel culture in 2021. They are going full steam ahead with a second season of “Cheer”. A new trailer for the second run just dropped. Navarro cheer coach Monica Aldama talks about Harris’ arrest in the clip.

“I can’t even like process it right now.”

Greg Whiteley is the director and executive producer of the show. He said the season will tackle a lot of difficult issues. The COVID-19 pandemic and Jerry Harris’ arrest are both major topics.

The second season of “Cheer” debuts on Netflix on January 12, 2022. The controversial topics will likely have fans of the genre foaming at the mouth for more information. Jerry Harris will not be able to enjoy the release, as he is facing multiple federal charges.
