Earlier this year, UFC President White prevented UFC legend Georges St-Pierre from fighting boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya at Triller Club. Oscar De La Hoya was certainly furious at the announcement and so were many other people. It came to such a point that Oscar De La Hoya even challenged UFC president Dana White to a fight.
Dana White dismissed his challenge and called Oscar De La Hoya a crackhead and this prompted a response from La Hoya who lashed out at him. La Hoya recently claimed that Alexander Volkanovski doesn’t get enough pay in the UFC.
This led to Dana White blasting La Hoya and stating that the boxing legend should win an academy award for his performance at the hospital. Recently, Oscar De La Hoya told Khabib Nurmagomedov that being a promoter is not complicated at all.
While speaking on The Fight with Teddy Atlus, Dana White addressed La Hoya’s recent comments and blasted Hoya for saying being a promoter is an easy job.
“Khabib just started his own promotion and I said, ‘Listen, Khabib has no idea but he’s gonna know. You’re going to learn what it’s like to be a promoter.’ And then De La Hoya comes out and says, ‘Khabib, it’s easy.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, it’s easy, you don’t f***ing do anything.’ You lost every fight that you ever f****** had and you literally do nothing. Of course, it’s easy, you don’t do anything.”
Oscar De La Hoya recovered from COVID-19 and made it clear that he was raring to get back to the ring. La Hoya even made a $100 million offer to Floyd Mayweather for a boxing match. Floyd Mayweather was said to be up for the boxing match as well. We will have to wait and see if the match will ever happen or not.
