Eminem’s contributions to hip-hop culture is incalculable. Slim Shady’s achievements continue to mount one by one. The legendary rapper is also not afraid to remind audiences about his humble roots, as he was poor as a child and was depicted as such in the film 8 Mile. As his relevancy continues to remain undiminished, Eminem recently bulldozed his way to another milestone.
With “The Slim Shady LP,” Eminem sets a new record for Spotify streams, surpassing 1 billion. Marshall’s debut album for Interscope became his 11th effort on the platform to exceed 1 billion streams. He is the first artist to accomplish so in human history.
“The Slim Shady LP” had 990 million streams in mid-December. That was made possible by the enthusiastic efforts of all Eminem stans, as well as the genuine participation of listeners who simply love his music without thinking about the figures.
Em smashed the milestone he set last year when he became the first artist to have ten albums with over one billion streams two days before the year ended. He now has eleven. On Spotify, all of his albums have now officially joined the 1 Billion Club.
