Kyrie Irving is certainly one of the best basketball players in the NBA. The Brooklyn Nets star might also retire as well due to his refusal to adhere to the COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Due to his refusal to get vaccinated, Kyrie Irving could miss up to 45 games this season.
From the looks of it, Kyrie Irving couldn’t care less about missing out on the seasons as even his coach has accepted that fact. Irving was put on blast for it and heavily criticized by several people, including former NBA players such as Raja Bell.
Kyrie Irving also recently took it upon himself to shut down all retirement rumors. Even Chance the rapper seemingly agreed with Kyrie Irving’s anti-vaxx stance for some reason. He even got support from Floyd Mayweather of all people
However, Kyrie Irving was set to make his return to the NBA soon. Unfortunately, Irving immediately entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols, which simply did no favors to the Brooklyn Nets. Thankfully, Irving did return recently for a practice game.
While speaking to the media after his return, Kyrie Irving talked about how good it feels for him to come back and admitted that he missed the rhythm of the game.
“Like I said, it’s my first day back around the block with the guys, and it felt like it’s been a long time. It’s only been like three months or so but it felt like the days have been slowly crossed off the calendar while I am sitting down. When I thought about it, last night I could barely sleep. I was like man, I just don’t want to come out and not be who I am to be as a player. Just getting up and down, my heart racing, and just not being nervous touching the basketball again. Just the rhythm of the game I missed it.”
With Kyrie Irving back in the saddle, there is no doubt that The Brooklyn Nets will have a much better time this season as they were already performing well thanks to Kevin Durant.
