Eminem has always set lofty goals for himself. Marshall Mathers has remained in the Top 10 most streamed Spotify artists for years, and he will end 2021 with a new high. He just surpassed 26 billion streams on the popular streaming music platform.

Eminem is now rated No.8 with 26,061,953,083 lifetime streams from his main library. You can also add in 3.6 billion from his features to this tally for a total of 29.7 billion streams. This implies that in a matter of weeks, we’ll be celebrating his major streaming milestone of 30 billion streams.

Meanwhile, here is a list of Spotify’s top ten most streamed artists:

  • 1. Drake — 43,7 billion
  • 2. Ed Sheeran — 32,9 billion
  • 3. Bad Bunny — 30,4 billion
  • 4. Ariana Grande — 28,7 billion
  • 5. The Weeknd — 27,8 billion
  • 6. Justin Bieber — 27,4 billion
  • 7. Post Malone — 26,3 billion
  • 8. Eminem — 26 billion
  • 9. Taylor Swift — 24,9 billion
  • 10. J Balvin — 22,8 billion

Eminem did not release any new music in 2021 other than a new verse on a remix (“Killer” from MTBMB: Side B) and two features (Skylar Grey’s “Last One Standing” and Dr. Dre’s “Gospel”). Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige will perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in February. That didn’t harm his relevancy one bit.

Slim Shady had a successful year in 2021. His past songs are so iconic that he didn’t need to record new ones to reach the top ten. If he released a new record, he would have finished in the top five without question. Still, he was on top of Genius’ yearly search list as fans still want to know what he’s saying. Perhaps those were fans combing his catalog in search for content to cancel him for.

Eminem may have a successful year in 2022 as well, especially with a new album rumored to be on the way.
