WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder’s rivalry is certainly one of the most storied rivalries in recent memory. Tyson Fury tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this year which prevented their third fight from happening in July.
The two finally duked it out on October 9th at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. For many fans, the boxing match surpassed all expectations as it was a heavy-hitting affair as both boxers gave it their all in order to win the match.
Wilder certainly impressed fans for lasting as long as he did with Tyson Fury, managing to show grit and determination in the face of adversity. In the end, Fury knocked Wilder out in the 11th round and emerged victorious.
While speaking to TMZ Sports, UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou made it clear that boxing is still in his sights and it will definitely happen. He then proceeded to call out Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder for a boxing match.
Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder. I would like to test myself to that level. It’s not the same sport, although I’m the champion, I’m in the top in this division. At the end of the day, it’s just about like trained hands, trained punches, having a good delivery system to produce bombs and I’m sure that if I deliver my own punch, it’s pretty good, I can make some damage.”
We will have to wait and see if Francis Ngannou will truly leave the UFC to become a boxer in the future or not.
