Shawn Mendes broke up with Camila Cabello and the wound of that breakup seems really fresh. A few days after Camila took a break from social media, Shawn has addressed that he has not been feeling well scrolling social media.
The 23-year-old Canadian singer opened up while talking about his new song, It’ll Be Okay. It was a nearly two-minute video clip for his roughly 65.9 million followers. He seemed very honest and vulnerable in the video and thanked fans for being by his side.
Soon after his breakup, Mendes had released a single titled ‘It’ll Be Okay.’ The singer opened up on what he had in mind while penning the lyrics to the heartwarming song. Mendes revealed that he uses songwriting as a platform to get inside himself and his earnest thoughts.
“I think that when I make music, the ultimate goal is to kind of be sitting there and have my own truth revealed to me, I’m using music as a platform to be able to get to a place inside myself that I wouldn’t be able to get to by just talking to people or thinking about it. I see a lot of TikToks of people crying and getting emotional and stuff, and I hope that’s because there’s some truth in the song [‘It’ll Be Okay’], and there lies honestly in it.”
Camila seems busy this holiday season. Last week, she performed a mariachi version of the holiday classic I’ll Be Home For Christmas for President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at the White House. Camila was also joined by Mariachi Herencia de México, a ten member group from Chicago, Illinois, for the concert.
They decided to break-up mutually in November and said that they would remain friends thereafter. However they might be going through a hard time which is clearly showing. We are hoping that Shawn gets back up from this feeling and bless us with amazing songs as he usually does.
