Dana White is known to be a very controversial figure when it comes to the proper payment of UFC stars. He was called out for this fact many times by the likes of Jake Paul. However, it cannot be dismissed that Dana White has made UFC what it is today as it remains the most popular promotion for MMA in the world right now. The world of MMA has certainly grown exponentially since its humble beginnings a couple of decades ago.
Jake Paul has become the unexpected champion when it comes to UFC fighters receiving fair pay for risking their lives in every fight. Jon Jones, in particular, has demanded he get paid a proper amount of money to compete in big fights. Jake Paul had previously blasted Dana White over UFC not paying their fighters properly
The issue of fighter pay became one of the biggest topics of discussion in 2021 and it seems that is still the case in 2022. While speaking with Las Vegas Review-Journal, Dana White talked about the subject of fighter pay.
Dana White claimed that UFC fighter pay has gone up significantly, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also reminded fans that the UFC didn’t fire any of their employees during the pandemic
“Fighter pay is why I usually don’t beat my chest and talk about how great we’re doing. It has gone up by a massive amount since 2016. All the champions share in PPV money, and we’re setting records there. Trust me, everybody is making money. We worked through the pandemic and kept all of our employees and kept the fighters working. Fighter pay has continually gone up.”
It is highly unlikely the topic of fighter pay will ever die down, especially because Jake Paul continues to fight against Dana White when it comes to paying UFC fighters a proper wage.
