Pop Smoke was murdered during a home invasion while he was staying at Teddi Mellencamp’s rental home on February 19th, 2020. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his fans and now some new music is causing a stir.

On that fateful day in 2020, four hooded men, including some wearing ski masks, invaded the home and Pop Smoke was shot twice in the chest. His legacy is certainly living on long after his passing.

Fans of Pop Smoke are furious with his label after hearing that a posthumous record could be on the way. After receiving a dull response to Pop Smoke’s second posthumous album, Faith, it appears that the rapper’s followers are ready to put his legacy to rest.

As new music by the late 20-year-old Brooklyn artist was teased this week, but with a release date apparently set for 2022 fans reacted with hesitation. Many urged the rapper’s estate to hold off on releasing anything new.

Many of the late artist’s fans, however, felt that Faith was released too soon after SFTS, and that the songs were not as well received. The project was met with mixed reviews, with some critics suggesting it sounded like a Pop Smoke feature album. Pop’s admirers are begging Steven Victor and others in charge of his music releases to give him some time before releasing another full-length album.

Meet The Woo 1 and 2 were two incredible drill projects from New York’s rising talent. They seemed to pave the way for what seemed like the perfect send-off in the form of Pop’s debut studio album, Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon, which demonstrated his mainstream potential to take over the world.

Despite being gone for nearly two years, Pop Smoke is still one of the most influential rappers today, as seen by his popularity in the start of 2022. See what people are saying about the possibility of further posthumous albums from him below.
