The View will go back to their previous pandemic setup, because one of the show’s biggest stars tested positive for COVID-19. Sadly, Whoopi Goldberg has the virus, but the show must go on.
After Whoopi Goldberg tested positive for COVID-19, The View will start a virtual show. Joy Behar, the show’s co-host, announced the news to the audience on Monday. Aside from the Goldberg update, the women talked about how COVID-19 and the Omicron variant messed up their holiday plans.
“Why am I here instead of Whoopi? Well, Whoopi unfortunately tested positive over the break, but she’ll be back probably next week. But since she’s vaxxed and boosted, the symptoms have been very, very mild but we’re being super cautious here at The View.”
Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines were co-hosts for Monday’s presentation, which was streamed live from the panelists’ homes via a virtual setting. Anna Navarro joined the women as well. No one was brought in to take Goldberg’s place.
We will continue monitoring this ongoing story here at Thirsty.
There has been no update on how long The View will remain virtual as the Omicron variation continues to produce a surge in cases across the country.
