Bob Dylan is a legendary singer, but he is also the subject of certain accusations. Dylan has been accused of sexually abusing a woman. The woman said that she was assaulted several times when she was 12 years old and now she is opening up about the exact timeframe of events.
The woman has now expanded the date of the alleged 1965 incident. According to new court documents obtained by Page Six, the songwriter was on tour at the time of her accusations, contrary to previous accounts. He was away on tour for most of April and May that year.
The 68-year-old woman, who filed the suit anonymously in August under the initials J.C., claimed that the “Blowin’ in the Wind” singer groomed her and plied her with drugs and alcohol before allegedly sexually abusing her as a pre-teen. She claimed that he did this multiple times at his Chelsea Hotel apartment in April and May of 1965.
Nonetheless, the accused victim’s lawyer, Daniel Isaacs, argued at the time that his client’s accusations were credible and that there was enough time between tour dates for the alleged abuse to occur. He has recently made some changes to it.
Isaacs modified J.C.’s lawsuit this week, claiming that the alleged abuse occurred “over a period of many months in the spring of 1965.” According to records filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, this differs from the previous phrasing in the first case, which said that it occurred “during a six-week period between April and May of 1965.”
J.C. submitted her lawsuit on the eve of the expiration of the New York Child Victims’ Act’s two-year look-back period. It permitted victims of childhood abuse to file claims even though the statute of limitations had long expired. Dylan’s representative then responded to state a few things on his behalf.
“The amended complaint recycles the same fabricated claims as the original complaint filed in August.”
“They were as false then as they are now. We will pursue all legal options, including pursuing sanctions against the attorneys behind this shameful, defamatory and opportunistic case.”
Bob is already 80 years old, and now is not the time for him to deal with legal issues. Still, his past sins could be catching up to him. What goes around comes around, and Bob still has to pay for the wrongdoings he committed years ago, as alleged by the woman.
