Young Dolph was fatally shot and murdered in his hometown of Memphis in November 2021. Investigators were having difficulty identifying a culprit. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation finally announced on Wednesday, January 5 that they were looking for Justin Johnson, a 23-year-old suspect in the murder.
According to a recent Instagram post, authorities may not have to search for long. Johnson, a local rapper known as Straight Dropp, broke his silence on social media on Saturday, January 8 and stated he planned to turn himself in the following week.
Turning Myself In Monday @ 201, I’m Innocent. I’ll Be Back Sooner Than You Can Blink.
In another Instagram post, he said, “Next time post the REAL.. BS blogs,” implying that the media had mislead the public about his criminal background. Despite Johnson’s denials, the TBI appears to be certain that they have the proper guy.
Young Dolph and the Paper Route Empire group appear to have ties to Johnson. Shortly after he was identified, a photo of himself with Dolph began circulating on the internet. On his belt, he was also seen wearing a Paper Route Empire chain.
Johnson even recorded a music video in front of the same Orange Mound area house where the claimed getaway car was located in the days after Dolph’s murder. It added to the case’s complexity. Just feet from from the house, a guy was shot and murdered.
A total reward of $15,000 is being offered by law enforcement authorities for information leading to Johnson’s capture. He stands 5’8′′ tall and weighs 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. On his right arm, he has a tattoo that reads “Jaiya.”
