Megan Thee Stallion filed for a trademark to “Hot Girl Summer” back in 2019. The move struck fear in the hearts of fast fashion retailers everywhere who used the popular phrase for marketing. It seems her push for the trademark has finally come to an end.
VladTV reports that Megan Thee Stallion now owns the federal trademark to “Hot Girl Summer.” The rapper fought for the trademark rights for over two years. In 2019, Megan teamed up with Nicki Minaj to release her single “Hot Girl Summer.”
Following the release, the track rapidly caught on with the listeners. The phrase “Hot Girl Summer” spread like wildfire all across social media and in pop culture. This prompted the rapper to officially trademark the phrase.
Recently, a federal paperwork has found it’s way to the internet. The documents show Meg did indeed get the phrase trademarked. The registration for the trademark was reportedly issued on Jan. 4, 2022.
Apart from this, the rapper’s personal life seems to be going through a rough patch. Recently, Megan removed majority of her photos with Pardison Fontaine from her Instagram. This raised speculations whether the Hip-Hop duo are on the verge of calling it quits.
