WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin is regarded as one of the best pro wrestlers to have ever competed inside the squared circle. However, he wasn’t always as successful as Austin made his WWE debut as the Ringmaster. It seems he opened up about his infamous confrontation with Mike Tyson as well.
During the height of the Monday Night Wars, WCW was beating Monday Night RAW in ratings. Due to this, WWE decided to make some huge leaps as they brought in boxing legend Mike Tyson ahead of WrestleMania 14.
Austin and Tyson had a confrontation in the ring and it ultimately devolved into a massive brawl as fans simply went crazy at the two duking it out inside the ring. While speaking with ‘WrestlingRamble89, Steve Austin opened up about his infamous confrontation with Tyson and mentioned how they didn’t necessarily follow a script.
“I didn’t know what Mike was going to say. I kind of had the broad points about it. But, it was just a deal where Mike went out and said what he said and I got in his face and flipped him off. He had to push the sh*t out of me because if he just barely pushed me, he’d look like a punk. So, he pushed the sh*t out of me.”
Austin also previously revealed that he wasn’t sure whether Mike Tyson could handle the pressure of WrestleMania 14. Austin went on to defeat Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 14 and became the new WWE champion. It is safe to say Mike Tyson’s involvement helped WWE in a huge way during their program.
