Betty White passed away at 99-years-old, just over two weeks away from her 100th birthday. The loss affected tons of celebs, across sports and entertainment, who have honored her in their own way. Stefon Diggs has now come forward to do the same.
The Buffalo Bills wide receiver honored the iconic actress Sunday with a pair of pregame footwear. The footwear featured Betty white’s likeness, plus a famous song attributed to her as well. The artwork looked like a cartoon rendering of Betty throwing up the rock on hand sign while smirking.
“Thank You For Being a Friend” are emblazoned on the other cleat. The artwork was done by footwear designer Mache. The artist is famous for doing these mockups for athletes, especially Stefon.
Stefon usually flashes his custom cleats before kickoff and then changes into what he’ll wear for the game. However, it’s would not be strange of him to rock tribute cleats on the field as he did for Michael K. Williams. Stefon always comes through with the coolest way of paying tribute.
Stefon had also previously sent out a tweet on the day she passed. It is clear that Betty left her mark on Stefon and now, his love for her comes full circle.
