Seahawk’s quarterback Geno Smith landed himself in trouble with the cops. Ironically, this happened after the Seahawks had marked their victory against the Cardinals in Arizona. This seems like a case of celebrating too much.
Smith was picked up by authorities from the Washington State Patrol around 2 AM in King County, spokesperson from the bureau revealed. The arrest happened just hours after the player returned home with his team.
The player was arrested because of a drinking-under-the-influence suspicion, according to a report by TMZ. Drinking is not very uncommon when someone celebrates a victory. Couple that with driving and you are breaking the law.
Geno was first stopped for speeding, but the DUI suspicion came in later. He was booked into the King County Jail later on. However, he was released after spending only 7 hours in the custody.
Smith’s performance this season showed a great turn in his career. The NFL player maintained a record of 1-2 & logged in 702 passing yards and five TDs. More details from his arrest are unclear & still being worked out.
