Tom Brady Refused To Leave Game Until Rob Gronkowski Earned Big Bonus Money

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are preparing for their first-round playoff matchup next Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Brady and the Bucs enjoyed an easy victory over the Carolina Panthers as the team wrapped up a 13-4 season.

The Bucs are the number two seed in the NFC. Tom Brady has had another stellar season in Tampa. The franchise quarterback should’ve been removed from such a blowout long before he was. Brady refused to come out of the game until he helped his favorite tight end earn some big bonus bucks, according to TMZ Sports.

Gronkowski needed one more reception to trigger a $500,000 bonus payment written into his contract. Brady made the call to keep playing and make sure it happened. With just under seven minutes left, Brady defied head coach Bruce Arians when he decided to pull the starters.

Gronk hit his first $500,000 bonus earlier in the game after a 42-yard catch. Rob still needed one reception to earn the cash triggered by receptions for the season. Tom Brady hit him with a short pass in the flat to ensure Gronkowski got paid.

Rob Gronkowski finished the day with a stellar 7 receptions for 137 yards. Gronk was more valuable to Brady this week after Antonio Brown was cut by the Bucs after a bizarre on-field outburst. Tom Brady also set a career best for passing yards in a season with 5,316.
