Gunna’s latest drop caught attention, because his name is highly regarded in the industry. He recently made headlines for leaving Drake off of his DS4EVER album. Fortunately, that Drake song did leak. However, he outperforms himself with strong first-week sales projections for his new album, “DS4EVER.”
The first-week sales figures for Gunna’s new album, DS4EVER look promising, especially with The Weeknd’s massive Dawn FM dropping recently.
Gunna is now on track to sell 144,000 equivalent album copies in the first week of DS4EVER’s release, according to HitsDailyDouble. This is a big increase above Gunna’s first-week sales of 111,000 album units in 2020.
With the release of DS4EVER, Atlanta rapper Gunna has another great album launch under his belt, with rumors claiming that he would outsell Wunna’s first-week sales stats. This is a significant success for Gunna, who will outsell his mentor Young Thug’s Punk in the first week. Thugger debuted on Punk last year with 90,000 first-week sales.
While this puts Gunna in second place for next week’s #1 spot on the Billboard 200, the introduction of a deluxe version might catapult the rapper into first place over the weekend. As of now, The Weeknd’s Dawn FM is expected to launch at number one, selling an estimated 157,000 copies.
Gunna launched the deluxe edition of DS4EVER with four additional tracks on Tuesday. Other hip-hop and R&B albums slated to debut in the top ten next week are The Weeknd’s The Highlights at number seven, Doja Cat’s Planet Her at number nine, and Drake’s Certified Lover Boy at number ten.
Gunna’s New album is doing well. His YouTube comments were mostly enthusiastic about the album. Do you believe Gunna can outperform The Weeknd’s album and debut at number one? Keep an eye on Thirsty to find out.
