Marshawn Lynch could be preparing to launch Thursday Night Football into Beast Mode. The retired Seattle Seahawks running back’s name has been floating around for a very nice new job. Streaming giant Amazon is targeting Lynch as an analyst for their upcoming Thursday night studio show.
Marshawn Lynch put the fear of God into linebackers during his time in the NFL. Marshawn was known as a hard, take-no prisoners runner who was one of the toughest in the league to tackle. The former all-pro could be gearing up to bring his unique perspective to Amazon Prime.
The New York Post reported on the big news. Marshawn is expected to use his famous sense of humor to produce reports about the cities where the games are played as well as to conduct player interviews. Amazon has not commented on the matter.
Amazon is taking their acquisition of the Thursday Night Football rights very seriously. The company has been in talks with NBC play-by-play man Al Michaels to be the lead commentator. Marshawn Lynch would bring more instant credibility to the broadcasts. Amazon’s Thursday game package is set to start next season.
Troy Aikmen, Drew Brees, Chris Collinsworth, and an unknown broadcaster are among those Amazon has shown interest in as color commentators. Amazon may hire more than one of them. Prime will offer fans alternative feeds, similar to ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcasts with Peyton and Eli Manning.
Lynch made news when he appeared on the ManningCast earlier this season. Marshawn famously dropped an f-bomb on air. That wasn’t enough to deter Amazon’s interest in locking up the NFL great.
