Jake Paul’s current character sees him as a heel who loves getting under the skin of his opponents before every boxing match. Jake Paul isn’t afraid to call out top UFC stars for fights as he has called out the likes of Nate Diaz on numerous occasions for a fight. At one time he even called Nate Diaz every day to book a fight against him.
The Problem Child continues to make outrageous statements and ridiculous boasts for attention. For the most part, it certainly is working as fans simply want to see Jake Paul get his face punched.
This includes the times he has compared himself to Muhammad Ali and even stated that Ali was never tested like he was. Paul even revealed that he was suffering from memory loss after over 20 concussions.
There is no doubt that Jake Paul has made professional boxing popular again and helped generate a lot of revenue thanks to his matches. Despite this, he still has his fair share of haters who don’t give him his dues.
While speaking on his YouTube channel, Chael Sonnen talked about Jake Paul’s contributions to the world of professional boxing. Sonnen claimed that only jerks don’t give Jake Paul his due credit.
“When I tell you that it was a big deal that Jake took all those steps and all of a sudden he’s in there in front of the world, it doesn’t matter who his opponent was, that was a huge step after he has success and everybody tries to take it from him. Okay, he needs to get in there with a fellow athlete, a fellow competitor, a fellow combat guy, he goes out there and does it successfully and he takes a huge leap which he had absolutely no business doing, get in there with a former world champion. So when you look at these gains and you don’t want to give Paul credit, you’re just being a little bit of a jerk.”
Jake Paul also previously stated that he will be taking a break from boxing for a while after his match against Tyron Woodley last year. It remains to be seen what is next in store for The Problem Child.
