CPO Boss Hogg, whose real name Vince Edwards has tragically passed away. It’s a terrible day for for so many, including fans of his music.
The ex-Death Row Records artist’s death was confirmed by rapper E-A-Ski and journalist Chad Kiser. It’s unclear as of now how the Crompton, California native died. He was 52 at the time of his passing.
According to his official Instagram handle, he reported he was dealing with some health issues. Ambrosia For Heads reported that CPO previously survived a congestive heart failure in 2010.
CPO was introduced to the rap scene in the 1990’s by NWA’s MC Ren as the lead rapper of the group, CPO. In addition to himself, CPO included DJ Clarence “D.J Train” Lars and producer Daron “Young D” Sapp.
After originally performing as Lil Nation in the group, the rapper went solo and took on the name of CPO Boss Hogg. As a solo artist he was signed to Death Row and appeared on the soundtracks for Above The Rim and Murder was the case.
