Bob Saget suddenly and unexpectedly passed away recently. The comedian was loved throughout Hollywood. Friends like John Stamos and fans around the world have had nothing but kind words to say about the Full House star.
One of those friends was controversial comedian Dave Chappelle. Dave is trying to have a more normal year in 2022. Last year, he came under heavy criticism for perceived homophobic and transphobic comments in his Netflix comedy special.
During a performance at the Peppermint Club in West Hollywood on Thursday night, Chappelle hit a nerve with the audience. Dave told a story about how he failed to reply to the final text he received from Bob Saget. Dave thinks there is a lesson to be learned about the precious moments in our lives. TMZ shared a video of the touching moment.
“Man, he just texted me. And I saw the text yesterday. And I never texted him because I was busy. Yeah, it happens. I’m just saying this to remind you that these moments are precious.
When I come out at night, I’m not just hanging out. I’m making memories. Sh*t, when I go out at night, I’m making history.”
Chappelle worked with Bob Saget on fundraising events for Scleroderma. Saget’s sister passed away from the disease at 47. Dave Chappelle might be considered controversial in some circles, but this moment proves that he’s still human.
