Drake continues to lead in the music industry with very few who can rival the Canadian rapper. According to new stats, Drake has achieved another milestone in his career.
Chart Data dropped some new numbers on Twitter to show that no other artist has quite the year as Drizzy did on DSPs. In 2021, Drake was the number one most streamed artist of 2021 in the country with over 8.6 billion on demand streams.
To put that statistic into a broad perspective, Drake was responsible for one out of every 131 streams in 2021 being his songs. The statistic sounds even crazier when we consider that Drake dropped his only project of 2021, Certified Lover Boy in September.
The month happens to be the fourth quarter, where most artist take a break and close their shops for the year. However, Drake did the exact opposite and put his foot on the gas peddle. The massive hype for Drake’s CLB played a role in those insane streaming numbers.
The album broke both Apple Music and Spotify’s single-day records as it dominated the Billboard 200 chart by holding the #1 spot for multiple weeks. Drake also became Spotify’s most streamed artist of 2021 beating out likes of Taylor Swift, Juice WRLD, Kanye West and Bad Bunny.
Certified Lover Boy was released on Sept. 3 featuring Jay-Z, Future, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Tems, 21 Savage and many more. You can revisit the album below.
