Sinead O’Connor suffered a horrible personal tragedy recently. The Irish singer announced via Twitter that her son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, has committed suicide. He was just seventeen years old.
O’Connor has been admitted to hospital just days after her 17-year-old son was found dead. The singer said she feels ‘lost’ and ‘hates’ herself without her son. Shane O’Connor took his own life last week after escaping hospital while on suicide watch.
Sinead revealed what happened after her son’s death last night. She also made a series of suicidal tweets. The singer then mentioned that she was with police and being taken to see medics in a heartbreaking Twitter post. She wrote online after another tweet: “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. I am with cops now on way to hospital. I’m sorry I upset everyone. I am lost without my kid and I hate myself. Hospital will help a while.”
TMZ reported that police in the Bray area of County Wicklow were searching for the missing teenager since Thursday. O’Connor pleaded with desperation for authorities to help find Shane. The troubled youth had been hospitalized and on suicide watch in the days leading up to his passing.
Sinead’s Twitter timeline read like a horror story as she scrambled to find her son. O’Connor begged Shane to reconsider and come home. O’Connor said last week she had ‘formally identified’ the body of her 17-year-old son Shane who died by suicide. Besides blaming herself for the horrible tragedy, Sinead railed against Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, the child and family agency Tusla and the Irish state for ‘failing’ her son Shane.
