Soulja Boy Defends His Extravagant Fashion Choices

For Soulja Boy, dropping thousands of dollars on designer goods is chump change. It’s not uncommon for rappers to go on a extravagant shopping spree which reflects their larger than life persona, why would Soulja Boy be any different? He’s got the money to back it up.

The rapper whose is real name is DeAndre Cortez Way told PageSix about some of his recent purchases. He revealed he bought a watch for $30,000, a chain for $20,000 and spent $25,000 to $70,000 on Louis Vuitton goods.

Soulja defended his spending. The 31-year old told the outlet splashing out on diamonds and logo-covered luggage is important for his image. He added, “I have to be presentable for my fans. This is not frivolous spending, this is me looking presentable” According to him, you have to “spend money to make money.”

Between his music career, his successful soap company and his new six-episode documentary-series, “The Life of Draco” Soulja seems to have his financial front covered. The rapper joked, “You see me doing a shopping spree on the series, that means we just had a good day,” 

The rapper revealed his real concern is ensuring he doesn’t end up as a target of home burglary as celebrities have often been victim of the crime. Stars such has Beyonce, Jeremy Piven and Ellen DeGeneres have all been robbed recently.
