Tom Brady is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. People call him GOAT for a reason. The Buccaneers easily defeated Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card Round last weekend. This win backfired at Tom Brady as haters started claiming that he was aided by the referees. Tom Brady recently hits back at those who claimed the same.
Brady was tackled by an opposition defender in the first quarter. Despite the fact that it wasn’t a significant hit. The Eagles were penalized for roughing the passer. Many fans took to social media to express their displeasure, claiming that Brady is constantly aided by referees.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion addressed the charges about the referees assisting him on the field on his “Let’s Go” podcast. Brady noted that he doesn’t think he gets a lot of penalties that go his way. He’s convinced that if he looked it up, he’d be near the bottom of the list of quarterbacks who benefit.
According to nflpenalties.com, Brady is seventh in the NFL in terms of roughing the passer infringements since 2009.
Brady is simply frustratingly good at football at this point, and that will never change no matter how old he gets. Brady will be hoping to prove himself once more when the Buccaneers compete on the Rams on Sunday. What do you think Brady was aided by the referees or not, let us know in the comments.
