Britney Spears finally rid herself from conservatorship last November after a long and much publicized courtroom battle with her father, Jamie. The lawyers of the father-daughter duo went toe-to-toe at yet another court hearing on Wednesday.
Jamie’s attorney Alex M. Weingarten requested Judge Brenda Penny to unseal Britney’s private medical records as he believes the “public has the right to know” the context around his decisions while acting as conservator. However, Los Angeles Times reported, Penny ruled to seal the records citing Britney’s “right to privacy over her private medical information”
Jamie asked for the information from Britney’s longstanding conservatorship case to be released to properly defend his client Jamie against the assertions. He wanted to demonstrate that “there is no evidence to these allegations.”
Meanwhile, the 40-year old pop star’s estate is finally under control. Her father is still battling with Britney’s lawyers over a declaration they recently filed by an investigator who confirmed that a secret listening device was installed in the singer’s bedroom.
On Tuesday, Jamie fired back at Britney’s lawyers who filed the documents detailing the findings of their investigation into the accusations that he instructed a security team to spy on Britney. According to People, Weingarten called the results “nonsense” and added “virtually everything that is alleged is, fake or taken out of context.”
The drama between the pair is set to continue in the upcoming court hearings. We will on the lookout for more updates.
