DeMarcus Cousins didn’t last long as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks. Cousins signed as a free agent with Milwaukee in late November of 2021. By the first week in January, he was waived after averaging 9.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. DeMarcus now has a second chance to salvage his NBA career.

The Denver Nuggets are going to give DeMarcus Cousins another shot. The team is expected to sign him to a 10-day contract sometime today. During that ten-day period, Denver will play six games.

The Nuggets and Lakers recently brought in Isaiah Thomas on 10-day deals. Denver has had their share of struggles with COVID and injury problems. Demarcus Cousins will be the team’s next life preserver. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news via Twitter.

“Free agent center DeMarcus Cousins will sign a 10-day contract with the Denver Nuggets today, sources tell ESPN. Denver has six games in the stretch, beginning vs. Memphis and Detroit on Friday and Sunday.”

DeMarcus Cousins is a veteran of the NBA who might still have some spring in his step. The Nuggets are hoping the big man has something to offer. If he plays well, he could get more permanent looks from around the league.

Cousins was selected for the NBA All-Star game on four occasions between 2015 and 2018. DeMarcus’ prime may be behind him. The decorated center is hoping he can still show he’s got a little in the tank.
