Holly Maddison has been firing shots at Playboy due to her time at the mansion. Playboy has finally replied to those accusations in a statement.
In a clip from the upcoming docuseries “Secrets of Playboy,” Madison drew a comparison to her time with the other girls who lived in the Playboy mansion. She mentioned the whole feeling was like being in a cult. Gaslighting was one of the major accusations she had against them.
In a statement to E! News, Playboy addressed Holly’s clip from the A&E docuseries. “Today’s Playboy is not Hugh Hefner’s Playboy,” it read. Playboy tried to clear the air by distinguishing them now from how it was back in the day.
“We trust and validate these women and their stories and we strongly support those individuals who have come forward to share their experiences. As a brand with sex-positivity at its core, we believe safety, security, and accountability are paramount. The most important thing we can do right now is actively listen and learn from their experiences.”
Maddison lived in the Playboy Mansion from 2001 to 2008 and had a lot of things to talk about in the video series. She talked about feeling isolated from the world outside the Playboy Mansion. All the girls were expected to think of Playboy founder Hugh “Hef” Hefner as a “really good guy”
Madison was Hefner’s “number one” girlfriend back in the day, although he was also dating Marquardt and Wilkinson during most of their show’s run. Holly isn’t the only former Playboy bunny who has spoken out about the company culture in the 2000s. Hugh’s third wife, Crystal Hefner also recently shared about her bad experiences in the Mansion.
The statement from Playboy noted how the organization’s workforce is more than 80 percent female. They made huge claims to be a very progressive and supportive company now. How the response was received by the victims is yet to be seen.
