Dana White has a lot on his plate these days. UFC 270 takes place tonight. A huge heavyweight bout between Francis Ngannou and undefeated Ciryl Gane highlights a stacked card. White has been distracted by some contract drama involving the heavyweight champion.
Ngannou has said the fight with Gane might be his last for the promotion. The Predator is looking for more money. Dana White doesn’t seem too concerned about the dispute.
According to TMZ, White encouraged fans to see how the fight goes before talking money. UFC will figure out what to do from there. Dana said he recently ran into Francis Ngannou and they had a productive talk.
“I’ve been in contract drama for 20 years with people. It’s part of the business. I honestly don’t know where we’ll end up after Saturday. We’ll see how the fight goes, we’ll see what happens and I’m sure we’ll figure it out one way or another…
Francis and I have had our moments over the last several years. I bumped into him at dinner a few weeks ago and we had a good conversation. It was funny because we needed to talk. We needed to see eachother and the universe made it happen.”
Dana White expects UFC 270 to beat the all-time box office record for the Honda Center in Anaheim. The promoter is expecting to bring in $5 million in ticket sales. That should be enough to take care of Francis Ngannou regardless of the outcome of his championship fight with Ciryl Gane.
