Legendary Fashion Designer Thierry Mugler Passes Away

Thierry Mugler is one of the biggest names in the fashion industry. The French designer is considered an icon in the fashion circuits. We’re sad to report that Thierry has passed away.

On Sunday, Thierry’s team announced the news of his passing on Instagram. The post featured an all black square photo with the caption, “#RIP We are devastated to announce the passing of Mr Manfred Thierry Mugler on Sunday January 23rd 2022. May his soul Rest In Peace.” The same message was repeated in French as well.

As of now, it’s unclear what’s the cause of his death. He was 73 at the time of his passing. The designer didn’t appear to be ill or battling any known ailments as his passing is sudden and unexpected.

Almost instantly after the post was shared, tributes and condolences started pouring in, especially from people in the fashion world who knew Mugler well. In his decades long career, he has dressed some of the biggest names in the game including Kim Kardashian. She wore an outfit from Mugler during the 2019 Met Gala.

The list of celebrities who have frequently modeled Mugler’s outfits include Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Rihanna and many more. In addition to his contribution to fashion, Mugler has also tried his hands in the fragrance business. He has a diverse range of perfumes that are still best sellers to this day.
