Peacemaker is the first DC Extended Universe (DCEU) television series and a spin-off of the 2021 film The Suicide Squad. John Cena portrayed the title character in the series, reprising his role from The Suicide Squad. Peacemaker has now become the most best-reviewed entry in the DCEU canon.

The series has gotten overwhelmingly positive feedback from both audiences and critics. Since its debut, celebrities such as Kevin Smith and Goosebumps creator R.L. Stine have praised the series on social media. The show’s opening titles, which depict the group dancing to Wig Wam’s “Do You Wanna Taste It,” have even gone viral.

Showrunner James Gunn has hinted that the series might continue for further seasons, and based on the critical response, Warner Bros. and HBO Max will most likely order more Peacemaker shortly. Peacemaker has the most positive reviews in the DCEU, according to Rotten Tomatoes. The show gets a 94 percent approval rating. That surpasses the previous high of 93 percent set by 2017’s Wonder Woman.

Gunn’s second DCEU movie, The Suicide Squad, is ranked third with 90%, with Shazam! coming in fourth and Birds of Prey rounding out the top five. The two 2016 DCEU titles at the bottom of the list are Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (27%) and the original Suicide Squad (26%). Peacemaker comes in third place, after only Doom Patrol (97%) and Watchmen (96%). All three of the top-rated DC television series are HBO-related, indicating a hopeful outcome for additional upcoming series planned by the network.

Since the catastrophe of the Justice League reshoots, the DCEU has redefined itself dramatically with a number of projects that feature very diverse, unique voices from writers emphasizing a batch of new characters and concepts from the huge archive of the DC Universe. Now all eyes will be on forthcoming DCEU productions like Black Adam, The Flash, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom to see if they can unseat Peacemaker as the best-reviewed film.

The first three episodes of the series premiered on HBO Max on January 13 and will continue to air every Thursday until the series concludes on February 17. To get the latest updates, Keep an eye on Thirsty.
