As we reported earlier, Cardi B walked off with over $1M yesterday after she was awarded a victory in her lawsuit against YouTuber Latasha “Tasha K” Kebe. Following the judgement, Kebe soon took to the internet and addressed her legal loss.
Kebe spread several rumors about the rapper in videos and on social media posts where she claimed Cardi had STD, was a drug abuser, was a prostitute and much more. She was sued by the rapper in 2019 over the defamatory claims. Cardi B might be in a celebratory mood now but this isn’t the case for Kebe.
The case finally got to see the inside of a courtroom earlier this month. The trial resulted in a major victory for Cardi. The blogger has to cough up $1.25M in damages after she lost the lawsuit. The total damages awarded to Cardi may potentially increase in future as more legal proceedings are set to take place to determine additional punitive damages.
After the news of Cardi’s victory against Kebe spread throughout the internet, Kebe came forward to mention her legal loss. She tweeted, “My Husband, Attorney’s, & I fought really hard” She also said in her tweet, “I want to thank them for their long hours and sleepless nights. Winos it’s only up from here. See y’all in a few days. Back to work.”
Immediately afterwards she posted an advertisement video on Instagram where people mocked her in the comment section with remarks about needing money to pay off the million dollar judgement. During the trial, Kebe did admit to knowingly publishing lies about the rapper but later backtracked on her statement when she was questioned by her lawyers. Meanwhile, Cardi has yet to comment on her victory.
