Soulja Boy is an innovator who doesn’t get the credit he deserves. He had a YouTube account years before anyone else in the game and he was the first spitter with an iPhone.
50 Cent and Soulja Boy both showed off pictures of them doing the money challenge way before it was trending. After all, they know all about trending topics and they have plenty of money to play with, literally.
Both rappers posted photographs of themselves writing words in cash, but Soulja claims to be the one who started the craze. The two uploaded old images of them participating in the money challenge on Instagram.
“When i look back at some of the sh*t that i did, I be bugging out,” 50 Cent captioned a photo of himself spelling out “broke” with cash. “I see all these new versions i like all of them. @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.”
The money challenge isn’t the first time Soulja Boy has sought to claim credit for anything. He received backlash online last summer after claiming to be the first rapper to wear BAPE.
“I was the first to do it,” wrote Soulja in his own post soon after, sharing a photo of himself spelling out his name in cash back in 2016.
Fivio Foreign joined the latest internet trend this weekend: the money challenge. The idea is to simply use cash to spell out certain phrases or sentences and then share a snapshot of it on social media. The Brooklyn Drill rapper, on the other hand, received a nasty awakening when he chose to write “FU** CHILD SUPPORT” on the wood floor of his high-rise flat.
Future, like NBA YoungBoy and Lil Durk, has posted a money-spread message on Instagram, albeit his was not nearly as cryptic as YB’s or Durk’s. Future arranged his money to spell out his idea that he is the top dog in an IG story and snapped a picture of the scenario with a bird’s eye view angle revealing his fresh Balenciaga socks firmly set in the couch above the spread.
