Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson needs no introduction when it comes to the pro wrestling world as he is still regarded as one of the all-time greats. He is also a dominant force in Hollywood and brings huge star power to any film he acts in. The Rock has millions of admirers hanging on his every word.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Evans, most famous for his role as Captain America for Marvel Studios, has joined the cast of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Red One. Amazon Studios will distribute the holiday action comedy flick.
The plot is presently being kept under wraps. The film is however based on an original story by Hiram Garcia, president of production at Seven Bucks, and has a script written by Chris Morgan. The film is described as an action-adventure comedy that imagines a new universe for the Christmas genre.
Jake Kasdan, together with Melvin Mar and co-producer Sky Salem Robinson, will direct and produce the film under his production business, The Detective Agency. Kasdan, Dwayne Johnson, and Seven Bucks Productions will reconvene for the film after their previous collaborations on Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level, which grossed a combined $1.7 billion worldwide.
Producer credits will be shared by Hiram Garcia, Dany Garcia, Johnson, and Morgan. Evans is represented by three agencies: 3 Arts, CAA, and Narrative. WME represents Johnson, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and Seven Bucks Productions. WME is Mar’s management company. WME represents Kasdan, while ICM represents Morgan.
