Cardi B may be thankful for a lot of things. Not only did the mother of two win her lawsuit against YouTuber Tasha K, but she also received a substantially greater settlement than expected as a result of her triumph. The “WAP” rapper thanked her attorneys, who have been working for nearly three years on the case.
TMZ caught up with the “Bodak Yellow” singer outside a federal court in Atlanta earlier today, January 25th. She wasn’t shy about thanking those who had helped her get through the difficult times she’d gone through.
It all ended with Tasha K being found liable for all three claims against her for uttering various detrimental lies about Cardi, including negative rumors about her sexual health. Cardi B seemed quite vulnerable on the stand, confessing that the claims made about her by the blogger were so emotionally painful that she had suicide thoughts.
I felt defeated and depressed and I didn’t want to sleep with my husband. I felt like only a demon could do that sh*t.
Cardi praised the jurors for reaching a just result before presenting flowers to the media for encouraging her throughout the trial, admitting that reporters helped maintain her strong while dealing with the emotional hardship. Tasha K’s attorneys were also congratulated for their nearly three years of effort on the case.
Cardi was granted $1.5 million on Monday. Today, she was granted an additional $1.5 million in punitive damages, as well as $1.3 million in attorney expenses. Take a look at her YouTube video below.
