Jon Jones is considered one of the best fighters in the history of the UFC for many fans. Since early last year, Jones had made it his life’s mission to go after Francis Ngannou’s UFC Heavyweight Championship. Jones has also been on a mission to get paid.
Bones Jones had been working very hard to make it to the Heavyweight division in the UFC. The journey has certainly been a very difficult one for him. It was even said that he was iced for speaking up about fighter pay.
For the past few months, Jon Jones has made it clear that he wants to return to the Octagon this year and even recently revealed that he plans on becoming a champion in 2022.
Jon Jones also ripped Francis Ngannou for his performance at UFC 270. While speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Francis Ngannou talked about a potential fight against Jon Jones. Ngannou wondered what price he would have to pay for the fight to happen.
“I think Jon Jones’ wheel is passing by like a car on the boulevard, so it’s really hard to follow.” The duo shared a laugh, and Helwani then asked whether ‘The Predator’ feels Jones doesn’t really want to fight him. Ngannou replied by saying, “I don’t know. At this point, I don’t know. And even though I would like to have that fight, like, at this time, I don’t want anything to be like a string attached. As long as I won everything, I don’t want anything to hold me into my principle to like, get me out – Yes, to like, take me off my position of what I want. Yes, the Jon Jones fight, but at what cost? What is the price that I have to pay for that fight? That’s the problem.”
Dana White confirmed Jon Jones is nowhere near the UFC Heavyweight Title picture. We will have to wait and see who Jon Jones’ next opponent will be, should he return this year.
