Kanye West is currently trending due to his romantic life with Julia Fox and his squabbles with Kim Kardashian. Despite the fact that Antonio Brown’s NFL career is on hold, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneer has turned his mind to other pursuits in the meantime. Kanye and Antonio have collaborated to create Donda Sports Brand.
According to Vibe, Donda Sports Brand is a partnership between the controversial wide receiver and rap musician and fashion mogul Kanye West. The two firebrands will be partnering on an athletic apparel line. Brown, who announced the news in a recent interview with the Complex, discussed the inspiration behind Donda Sports Brand and his participation in its launch.
“We’re just excited about the Donda Sports Brand, and making this thing a competitive sports brand to the athletes. I don’t think there’s a lot of fashion lines for athletes, wearing fashionable and comfortable clothes, so with a guy like Kanye West, being able to partner with him and work with him to provide more creative, genius ideas for fashion looks for athletes in general… I’m just grateful for the opportunity here soon, to share what we’ve got with the world. And you guys are hearing it first, we got some exciting things to look forward to this year.”
According to Brown, the two met “randomly” at a restaurant and soon connected over a lack of “fashion lines for sportsmen.” What this new brand will look like remains to be seen, but Brown appeared determined to provide athletes with trendy and comfy alternatives.
Given that the sports brand is an extension of the Donda moniker, it’s unlikely to deviate too far from the label’s basic, utilitarian-style clothes.
